The Nokia 6700 Slide Red with a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens
The Nokia 6700 Slide Red has a 5 megapixel resolution camera with Carl Zeiss lens which can be operated instantly with the dedicated image capture key and is supported by a dual LED flash for up to 1 metre away. With a full screen of 2.2 inches as view finder photos can be instantly shared online with friends through Ovi Share and other popular sharing services such as Picasa and Flickr.
The home screen on this handset shows the user all of their favourite contacts and one click can call them, or alternatively it is simple to then check their latest text messages and calls. Again through Ovi Share notifications are pushed to the home screen informing of when a contact has commented on a photo, doubtlessly taken with the handset's impressive camera and instantly shared.
The 6700 Slide provides faster data connectivity meaning that files, messages, chat and more are all faster, including status updates on social networking sites such as Facebook, of which the application is also included along with Twitter. Email accounts can be synced through the most common protocols POP3, IMAP4 and SMTP, as well as Exchange Mail, popular services such as Hotmail and all contacts and Clara events can also be synced with Outlook mail accounts. A free email account is also available with Ovi Mail.
The Nseries Music Player keeps the user's music library together in one place and provides track selection by album, artist or genre, and playlist creation. It also shows album graphics and artwork to make it easier to search through music to find the right album or tracks. An FM radio is also included.
Connectivity is provided through Bluetooth 2.0 with enhanced data rate, support for local SyncML and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 via the micro USB connection. The phone has up to 60 megabytes of internal memory storage, which can be upgraded to as much 16 gigabytes at anytime through the microSD hot swappable memory card slot.
The handset's operation system is Symbian version 9.3 with S60 3rd Edition added. It also has voice commands an firmware over the air (FOTA) capabilities. Among the personal information management features are a calendar, calculator and clock, while among the many preloaded applications are popular social networking apps such as Twitter, Misplace and as mentioned, Facebook. In addition to these there are productivity apps such as Simple Video Editor and Still Image Editor, again working with the camera. There is scope to add many more apps and widgets through the Ovi Store.
The Nokia 6700 Slide Red is a well designed and lightweight handset offering a wide range of entertainment, work-related and productive capabilities, and is suited to any user who enjoys an easy to navigate phone with an impressive camera and many desired applications preloaded.
