How do you determine if a screw fastener's thread is made correctly?
I heard you can use a ring gage, but I don't know what that is? Could someone confirm this and point me to a website with this info and any photos. Thanks!
A ring gauge is used to determine the size of a person's finger - so that a ring fits correctly. They can also be used to determine the diameter of a circular object.
The device you need to use is known as either a pitch gauge or a thread gauge (to determine the pitch size of the threads).
